The noticeable increase in birdlife and native animals, as well as the marked improvements to Skinners Creek
(see images below) has highlighted the resounding success of this project funded by Envirofund. The before image (taken December 5, 2005) and latest images (taken August 22, 2009) demonstrate the dramatic aesthetic improvements to the area. Approximately 4 ½ hectares have been set aside as a wildlife corridor to balance the monoculture planting of 40,000 coffee trees and since no spray is used on these trees the biodiversity created with the planting of creek-edge shrubs and trees will serve to create a safe haven for wildlife. |
